Territory Colours was the Darwin City gallery showcasing Harold Thomas's paintings and the
unique original furniture designs and sculpture by Peter Cholmondeley.
Closing Territory Colours was a difficult decision but it now allows Peter to
completely focus on his life's passion, bespoke furniture design and inspiring sculpture.
These artists works are now available to view and
order from their own web sites (links below) or in person by appointment only
(see contact details below).
Thomas is well-known for designing the Aboriginal flag in 1971. His paintings
however, depict his journey through the Northern Territory, capturing the
light and movement of nature.
Peter has long set the standard for one-off furniture. In 1998 he founded Woodmasters,
orders ranging from simple repairs through to complex furniture commissions. Peter still
takes orders for one-off pieces but specializes in ready made bespoke art furniture of unique design.
Peter’s sculpture evolved from creative furniture making. A journey of exploration and discovery, timber slabs, offcuts, stone, metal and glass are transformed into abstract sculpture. Concepts are derived from nature and conservation.
